Population Distribution
Pilar's total population is 43,213 (NSO;2007) with Barangay Panilao posting the highest (7392 or 17%) and trailed by Alauli (6763 or 16%). Barangay Bantan Munti has the lowest population at 429 (1%). (Table 4)
The number of households totaled 8642 with average size of 5. (Table 5). The Population is projected to increase by 50,430 by 2012; 55,097 by 2015 and in the year 2020 it is forecasted to reach 64,001 using current growth rate of 3.34% observed from year 2000-2007.
Growth Rate
Pilar recorded an average growth rate of 3.13% from 1980 to 1990. A significant decrease was noted between 1990-1995 where it has gone down to 2.24%. However, from 1995-2000 Pilar posted a steady increase of 3.9% followed by a slight decrease from 2000-2007 which registered annual growth rates of 3.34%.
Population Density
Population density is placed at 9.13 persons per sq. km. Barangay Panilao is the most densely populated with 91.47 persons per sq. km, higher than the municipal density. Barangay Pantingan has the lowest population density with 2.16 persons per sq. km..
