PILAR, BATAAN – The renovation and beautification of the dilapidated Municipal Hall of this fast developing town in Bataan reflects a new face of Pilar town since, once its construction finishes, this town will be having one of the most beautiful town halls in the province.
While a political opponent of Mayor Charlie Pizarro is apparently not supportive on the beautification of the Municipal Hall here, the large but silent majority of the people in Pilar are so thankful to the leadership of Mayor Pizarro for initiating various infrastructure projects such as the Government Center which is now making money and boosting the fund for the yearly expenditure of this peaceful town. This was the first time in several years that such infrastructure projects were implemented successfully, making Pilar town as the envy of others. “Habang nagkakaroon ng maraming pagawain si Mayor Charlie para sa bayan ng Pilar ay patuloy ding nagiging desperado ang mga kalaban niya sa politika dahil sa kawalan ng kanilang nagagawa sa bayan,” said a local newsman privy to the political and economic development of this town.
A total of P37-M will be of the Municipal Hall and the historic Flaming Sword, a symbol of Pilar’s heroism. The construction and beautification of Pilar Town Hall was initiated by businessman and well-known Engr. Del Mendoza, president of the Horam-Abi Construction.
“Hindi lang renovation ng munisipyo ang gagawin dito kundi pati ang ground, kasama ang purchase the office equipment, furniture, beautification ng Flaming Sword at iba pa,” pointed out Mayor Pizarro. Pizarro lamented, however, that despite the positive actions and economic development he was initiating, his political foes continued to belittle it if not misinforming the public in their (foes) bid to destroy his credibility campaign na pinakakalat ng mga kalaban ko sa pulitika para siguro masira ang pangalan ko at tumaas ang popularity nila, wag namang ganun,” lamented the soft-spoken mayor.
The implementation of various farm-to-market roads, construction of various infrastructure projects under the leadership of Mayor Pizarro has become the envy of other local leaders who claimed that Mayor Charlie was a “favorite” son of the Garcias.
Pizarro had served as security officer of Governor Tet Garcia and a close friend of Congressman Abet Garcia, 2nd District, Bataan.
Some political observer claim that since Mayor Pizarro for mayor come 2013 election after completing three terms or nine years as mayor, his wife Alice would probably be the one to succeed the mayor.-MAR T. SUPNAD
